Crashbed Worker(s)
 
The Community Mental Health Programs, of Mission Services of London, has openings for Night Casual Relief Crashbed Workers.  These positions are under the support of the direction of the Program Coordinator.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Accept appropriate referrals (or refer to more appropriate community resources)
  • Conduct minimal admission interview and document.
  • Address the immediate comfort needs of guests. 
  • “Host-like” activities; offering nourishment, hygiene products and maintaining a clean and secure site.
  • Monitor and proactively intervene when necessary with conflict or problem solving issues. Maintain program routines as discussed in CMHP Procedure Manual and MSL Policies.
  • Participate in team and program meetings and facilitate good working relationships with all team members 
    Qualifications:
  • Post secondary education with a minimum of two years experience in the mental health and or addiction field or residential setting. 
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation, psycho-social rehabilitation principles and understanding of the Mental Health Act.
  • This position requires the individual to have excellent oral and written/computer communication skills.
  • Further, this is a team environment and therefore the successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal, proactive crisis intervention and problem solving skills.
  • Current First Aid, CPI and CPR certification would be an asset
  • French Language Skills would be an asset 
    Position Details:
     
  • Each shift is a 10.5 hour night and may be weekdays or weekends
  • These are casual relief positions, where you may elect to work or not, with no guarantee of hours.
