Job Description
To support current business and future growth our client is looking for a
Maintenance Supervisor
Job Duties:
- Build effective teams, develop motivation and commitment and maintain morale
- Recruit, train and develop the maintenance team, both in number and quality, to meet present and future needs
- Responsible for scheduling overtime / external contractors to meet planned maintenance plans and internal customer production requirements
- Responsible for the timely repair of equipment technical downtime as per plant priorities (timely escalation and external support coordination as required)
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures of the company including Health and Safety, Environmental and be pro-active in the development of a safe working environment
- Assemble all required information, coordinate the procurement / expedite of spare parts in the event of critical spare part shortage during equipment technical downtime
- Assemble, present and plan the long term corrective action for technical downtime resulting in 60 minutes or more
- Responsible for the execution of the scheduled planned work packages, special project lead / coordination as required
- Review, evaluate and improve critical spare components for responsible technologies
- Overall responsibility for the technical content of preventative maintenance plans for responsible technologies, responsible for preventative maintenance schedule adherence
- Review completed preventative maintenance plans and work logs, prepare notifications for follow up work as required
- Responsible in reviewing and processing of maintenance work notifications within SAP, responsible for the review of SAP tradespersons logs, generate follow up work notifications
- Maintain daily accurate Time and Attendance systems
- Order tools, materials, shop supplies (for areas of responsibility)
- Contribute and support the introduction of new products, facilities, machinery and process to the area
- Support and participate in continuous improvement activities in order to optimise equipment and processes
Job Specifications:
- Licensed Millwright/Industrial Mechanic
- 5 years experience in automotive manufacturing in a maintenance setting, 2 years supervisory experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with SAP, Microsoft Excel/Word
- Team building and employee development - coaching, teaching
- Leadership skills
- Financial awareness – understanding
- Time Management/Organizing/Prioritization skills
- Knowledge and understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Employment Law
