Part-time e-Learning Specialist

Type of Position: Part-time Temporary
Salary:  $22.71 per hour
Hours:  Up to 24 hours per week
Closing Date:  Open Until Filled

Note:  This is a part-time temporary position (up to 24 hours per week) until March 31, 2018.

Duties:  The e-Learning Specialist will work with the Program Manager, Lawrence Kinlin School of Business, and subject matter experts (faculty) to design and develop e-Learning material for online and blended delivery in the Lawrence Kinlin School of Business. The main responsibility will be translating raw content into an interactive digital format.

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Post-secondary 3 year diploma/degree or equivalent in Education, Instructional and/or Curriculum Design, Adult Teaching, Higher Education or a combination of relevant education and experience
  • Minimum 3 years related work experience and expertise in course mapping, course development, and learning management systems (D2L)
  • Must be well versed in e-Learning design theories and approaches and have the ability to apply them to online learning
  • Must be proficient in multimedia software applications including:

a) Intermediate programming skills (HTML, Java Script, CSS, etc.)
b) Working knowledge of e-Learning tools (i.e. Adobe Create Cloud, Articulate Storyline, Lectora,   or equivalent)
c) Knowledge of other multimedia design, and editing tools for graphics, audio, video, and animation

  • Familiarity with Universal Design principles, and ability to create closed captioning transcripts with the use of audio/visual tools
  • Knowledge of the Quality Matters® framework is preferred
  • Understanding of fair usage and copyright policies and practices
  • Works well in teams and independently with excellent communication skills
 
While transcripts are not required for the interview, they are mandatory prior to any offer of employment.
