Summary of Duties |
The City of London is currently recruiting a foreign trained professional who is working towards their accreditation as an Engineer and requires 12 months of Canadian work experience. |
Work Performed |
• Assists with the planning, design, contract preparation, and construction of projects within the Major Projects division.
• Provides review and commentary on work completed by consultants and contractors on project assignments and contracts
• Determines project design and construction requirements; prepares and recommends design criteria. Administers capital projects, reviews contract documents, evaluates tenders and recommends contract awards, inspection and administration.
• Arranges and attends meetings with other City staff to plan, discuss, and coordinate projects for Major Projects
• Provides practical and technical design and construction expertise related to procedures and policy development, standards, specifications and materials.
• Provide information or effective recommendations for communications with consultants, contractors, other municipal operating authorities, other divisions and departments of the City of London, government bodies, and utility companies.
• Supports community and stakeholder engagement during the planning, design and construction of projects within the Major Projects division. |
Qualifications |
Candidates must be a graduate of a recognized post-secondary education institute with Canadian equivalency with a Bachelor of Engineering degree (Civil or Environmental) from a university recognized by the P.E.O. Candidates must also be working on obtaining accreditation as an Engineer and have experience working as an Engineer in their home country. |
Compensation Range |
$60,000 annual salary |
