Payroll /Finance Administrator
 
Liberty Staffing, on behalf of our client, is seeking a Payroll/Finance Administrator to start immediately for a 3-6-month contract position located in Stratford.

PCP Designation and 3 years of payroll experience in a union environment required.

 Job Responsibilities:

Payroll

  • Process timely and accurate payroll and payroll remittances, ensuring all statutory deductions and leaves are properly processed and accounted for
  • Process all payroll documentation to ensure legislative requirements are met e.g. annual T4 preparation and submission, Pensionable and Insurable Earnings Review (PIER) reports and prepares all Records of Employment accurately
  • Maintain electronic and hard copy payroll files and all related documentation (terminations/Roe information)
  • Complete payroll requirements during new employee orientation that includes a review of related tax form (TD1), pre-authorized payment form and responds to questions
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the Collective Agreement and legislative standards to ensure proper payroll processing
  • Run bi-weekly and monthly reports including: pension, Union dues and any ad-hoc reports requested and as deemed necessary
  • Ensure pension plan contributions are processed as legislated
  • Provide information concerning employee’s personal payments on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Work in conjunction with Human Resources division to provide ongoing support and information to all employees
Accounting
  • Assist in preparing reports and managing interim and year end audits
  • Responsible for the performance of a variety of duties, primary responsibilities will include, coding, totaling, entering, verifying and reconciling accounts payable transactions, including processing cheque runs.
  • Perform related clerical duties, such as word processing, maintaining filing and record     systems, faxing and photocopying and act as back up for reception
  
Job Requirements:
  • Must have a PCP designation (Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certificate)  and have 3 years of payroll experience
  • Must have experience with collective agreement and legislative standards and have experience with payroll processing in a union environment
  • Advanced MS Office skills including Word and Excel – must be able to develop and maintain financial reports for the Finance department
  • Must be willing to start immediately
