Job Description
General Accountant
StarTech.com is currently looking for a General Accountant to join our Finance team at our Corporate Office in London, Ontario.
Reporting to the Controller, the General Accountant makes an impact by assisting with the General Ledger and Accounts Receivable functions including month-end and year-end close, financial reporting and analysis, as well as providing support to the overall Finance team for various projects.

What You Will Gain
- Exposure to multiple departments and all levels of the Finance team (CFO, VP Finance, Controller, AR Supervisor) by processing and generating financial accounting information
- The chance to be accountable for monthly financial statement preparation, consolidation, and analysis
- Exposure to a multiple-currency environment, especially during completion of period-end adjusting entries and month-end/year-end closing procedures for multiple StarTech.com companies, reconciliation of intercompany account balances and of multiple bank accounts in various currencies, and various balance sheet account reconciliations including investigation and resolution of unreconciled items.
- The opportunity to assist the Accounts Receivable team by preparing aging reports, assessing new customer requests and posting of invoices and payments
What You Can Show Us
- Experience with financial reporting (including preparation and analysis of financial statements) in a fast-paced, multi-company, multi-currency environment
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (ACCPAC and MSDynamics an asset)
- A demonstrated ability to work under time constraints, effectively prioritize multiple responsibilities, be detail oriented, while showing a commitment to process improvement
- Post-secondary education in business or accounting
- 5+ years of experience working in a general accounting function
