Job Description

Advance Manufacturing Technologies ULC (AMTI) is a leader in its industry and specializes in custom fabrication, welding, and machining of metal.  AMTI has two London locations totaling over 100,000 square feet.  Our facilities operate with the use of heavy duty overhead cranes, over 30 large modern CNC machines, and a 24-hour operation manned by expert and committed human capital. 
 
AMTI holds the following certifications: ISO 9001:2008, CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau), AWS (American Welding Society) certification in Steel and Aluminum, and the European DIN EN 15085. AMTI is also a certified company with the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
 
We are currently recruiting for a CNC Level II to join our growing team.
 Essential Functions:
  • Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
  • May set up, troubleshoot and/or operate one or more of the following machine(s), using vises, fixtures, chucks, etc., concurrently in assigned area under supervision: CNC Lathe, CNC Mill, Bandsaw, Sandblaster, Manual Mill, Manual Drill Press, hand grinders, and other power tools.
  • Must have knowledge of G and M codes in order to perform set-up functions of existing production parts.
  • Makes minor changes to existing programs in accordance with established procedures.
  • May require intermediate knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • May perform intermediate machine adjustments, if necessary (ex. tool offsets and fixture offsets)
  • May read and interpret technical drawings to verify machined parts, and to determine machine set-up.
  • May visually or mechanically inspect parts for defects (cracks, chips, dimension, surface finish, etc) as part of in-process inspection; records results and notifies lead/supervisor of deviation as appropriate. May use one of more of the following for measuring and inspection:Tape Measure, various types of Micrometers and Calipers, Profilometer, Height Gauge, Indicators, Edge Finders, Thread Gauges, Pin Gauges, and Bore Gauges with Master Ring.
  • Verifies first-off with Quality Dept. and makes necessary machine adjustments.
  • Understands and meets or exceeds production and quality standards; seeks to minimize reject rate.
  • Follows approved work instructions and drawings provided.
  • Required to perform some simple machine preventative maintenance functions, i.e. checking coolants, checking lubricants, and changing filters, etc.
  • Keeps machines and work area clean; notifies supervisor or maintenance when machine abnormalities occur.
  • Possess the ability to use the computer system (MFG/Pro) for basic departmental transactions.
  • Safely move components with lifting devices such as overhead cranes, jib cranes, and fork-lifts.
 Education, Training, and Skill Recommendations/Requirements:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent and related work experience of 3+ years.
  • Intermediate knowledge of blue print reading skills.
  • Intermediate machining experience, material knowledge and math skills.
  • Experience using lifting devices (cranes and fork-lifts)
  • Must meet all training requirements as defined by department.
