BASIC JOB DESCRIPTION
Performs a variety of design/drafting activities including preparing/updating drawings for projects, preparing assembly/manufacturing drawings, establishing guidelines and procedures for data management, and programming of CNC machines.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare dimensional drawings, installation drawings and more complex drawings (plant engineering)
- Revise and update existing drawings reflecting design changes, in collaboration with the Engineering Supervisor to ensure consistent documentation of the project
- Review blueprints, plans, specification and other customer documentation
- Revise and update drawings for manufacturing to ensure consistent documentation of the project
- Works with the Engineering Supervisor on guidelines for installation drawings which meet and exceed the customer’s requirements
- Maintain notes, design calculations and other documentation (like drawings, bill of materials, list of design parameters, and performance guarantees) for future reference
- Maintain filing guidelines for drawings
- Programming of CNC machines for the efficient and timely fabrication of our product
- Diploma, certificate or coursework in CAD
- Proficient in CAD software with applicable work experience
- Experience in furniture or cabinetry would be an asset
- Some SolidWorks experience would be beneficial
- Excellent communication skills: interpersonal, listening, oral and written
- Skilled in PC usage and associated software including Microsoft Office
- Excellent mathematical skills
- Able to work with minimal supervision, effectively schedule and manage time
- Ability to convert verbal and written information into 2D/3D information
