Job Description
Key Outcomes for the Position:
• Provide all clerical support to the project, including general office work, internal and external reporting, minute taking, data collection and statistical reporting within specific timelines and with attention to detail and complete accuracy;
• Seek out and develop resources to support the work of the project, specifically the Central Council and its six sub-councils.
• Consult and communicate on a regular basis with the LMLIP Co-Chairs;
• Plan, organize and deliver community planning processes and events in an effective and coordinated manner;
• Liaises with other staff and community partners, attend and participate in community committees and events;
• Coordinate communication activities and provide supports as required related to purpose, events and activities of LMLIP, Central Council and its Sub-Councils;
• Ensure that LMLIP has an active social media presence;
• Update LMLIP website to ensure relevant, current and timely content;
• Contribute to the overall objectives of the LMLIP through open, positive and professional communication and interaction; and
• Work within a team to provide support to colleagues and umbrella organization through involvement in internal activities and committees and support of day to day job functions;
• Conduct all work, interactions and communications in a way that reflects the integrity, ethical conduct and corporate responsibility of LMLIP, its community partners, sponsors and funders and results in a positive public view of the same.
Competencies and Minimum Requirements:
• One to three years of relevant experience;
• Strong administrative and clerical skills including problem solving, minute taking, filing, project reporting, data collection, database skills, meeting multiple deadlines and multi-tasking;
• Excellent organizational skills, in-depth knowledge of administration and record-keeping using electronic database;
• Advanced level of proficiency in Word, Powerpoint and Excel;
• Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills for internal and external relationships;
• Enthusiasm for and skill working in a team environment;
• Mature, confident, pleasant attitude;
• Understanding of issues related to successful settlement of immigrants and newcomers; and
• Flexibility to work outside normal business hours (some evening and weekend work).
