POSITION TITLE: | Manager, Centre Projects and Operations |
DEPARTMENT: | Ivey International Centre for Health Innovation |
REPORTS TO: | Executive Director, Ivey International Centre for Health Innovation |

The Ivey International Centre for Health Innovation (“the Centre”) works closely with key stakeholders to advance health system innovation to achieve economic value for Canadians. Innovation in health systems requires the joint efforts of industry, policy makers, health system leaders, clinicians and academic teams to create the conditions for a robust health system and policy environment that supports innovation.
The Centre uses an interdisciplinary approach, leveraging the expertise of clinicians and health providers, academia, industry partners, policy-makers, and governments to achieve innovation outcomes across health systems. In addition, the Centre leverages the varied expertise of the entire faculty of the Ivey Business School and Western University. This collaborative approach makes the Centre uniquely suited to design, implement, manage and lead health innovation research that not only builds leadership capacity to drive innovation adoption, but also supports knowledge dissemination of best practice outcomes across provincial, national and international jurisdictions.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education:
- Undergraduate degree required. Degree in Health/ Life Sciences preferred.
- Knowledge of the Canadian health system considered an asset.
Experience:
- Minimum of 45years’ experience managing the operations and administration function in a business unit preferably in an academic environment.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience independently planning and organizing conferences and events.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent organizational skills to effectively handle multiple priorities.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage projects and issues independently in a professional manner.
- Experience developing and managing departmental budgets.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders and to promote the mission, research and programs of the Centre.
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and make sound decisions independently.
- Demonstrated flexibility, initiative and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Skills in a variety of software packages (word-processing, spreadsheet and databases), web skills (FaceBook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram), aptitude to learn computer related skills and software as required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel and work outside of normal business hours on the planning and execution of events.
Location: Ivey Business School, Western University, London, Ontario
This is a 2 year renewable contract position with full benefits.
