Job Summary
 
            The Facilty Maintenance/Cleaner is responsible for identifying, troubleshooting and repairing general facility maintenance problems as well as completing a routine cleaning schedule.  The ideal candidate will be capable of performing small renovation projects, general maintenance and cleaning tasks, as well as ordering and monitoring inventory of cleaning and repair supplies.
 
 
Responsibilities & Essential functions:
 

• Perform general maintenance, cleaning, carpentry, masonry work
• Perform basic repairs of HVAC systems (cleaning vents, minor repairs)
• Repair drywall and perform painting tasks
• Perform basic plumbing tasks (fix leaky pipes, clean/unclog drains)
• Perform basic electrical tasks (replace light bulbs, identify deficiencies)
• Repair and maintain flooring (minor epoxy/mortar repairs, clean & polish floors)
• Assemble and move furniture, custom build furniture or cabinets, adjust hardware
• Maintain exterior areas (landscape, walkways, parking lots)
• Maintain company vehicles (cleaning)
• Assist with the implementation of 5S and organizational initiatives
• Ordering and monitoring inventory of cleaning and repair supplies for budgetary purposes, maintain cleaning logs  
• Setup for workplace events and visitor meetings
• Attend employee meetings and safety talks as required
• Perform other tasks as required

  
Requirements
 

• Have a working understanding of Health & Safety best practice and OH&S Legislation
• Ability to perform physical labour for extended periods
• Possess a wide range of residential and commercial repair and maintenance skills
• Have organizational & time management skills; attention to detail
• Willingness to learn new skills and desire to accommodate requests
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Possess basic computer skills and competency in MS Office
