MCI Design-Build Corporation is a Design-Build General Contractor located in London, Ontario, constructing projects ranging from $100 thousand to $20+ million in all sectors including Commercial, Industrial, Institutional and Custom Residential. We are currently seeking a creative Draftsperson with a keen eye to detail to join our team. This key member will be responsible for CAD drafting of multi-discipline and mixed-use projects.

Primary Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Develop and prepare designs and drawings from initial ideas and sketches throughout the various design phases (proposal renderings, preliminary plans, building permit ready architectural plans etc.)
• Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets
• Analyze and utilize building codes, by-laws, space and site requirements, and other technical documents and reports for drafting preparation
• Visit job sites to compile measurements as required
• Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications, design data, client requirements and project schedule
• Ensure all drawings are complete using design/drafting best practices
• Consult with architects, engineers, surveyors, etc. to collect data required for incorporation into drawings, schematics, etc.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant Canadian Building Codes and Standards related to drafting and design
• Provide input on design budget and hour estimates as required
• Review and assist Project Managers with shop drawings

Professional Experience and Technical Skills:

• Must have a minimum of 5 years demonstrated drafting experience in multi-disciplines
• Post-Secondary diploma in Architectural Technology or related field
• Expert knowledge of Canadian/Ontario industry codes, standards and practices
• Proficient in AutoCAD, and REVIT a minimum
• Ability to draft projects from initial concept through the construction document phase
• Ability to function effectively in a team, and independently, in a fast-paced environment
• High level of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills   
• Balance multiple projects and deadlines
