Job Description
Senior Mechanical Designer
On behalf of a growing client in the London market, Randstad is recruiting for Mechanical Designers with 5+ Years of Experience designing equipment automation for Food and Automotive customers. Our client provides custom automation solutions to move product around in manufacturing and production facilities; they specialize in welding machines and food processing equipment or conveyor systems.
This is a senior position and has the opportunity to take a supporting team lead position within the department to mentor and coach others on projects. Designers would report to Design Manager directly for performance reviews and assessments.
REQUIREMENTS
•Mechanical Design and/or Engineering Education is required
•Design Software REQUIRED: AutoCAD and/or Solidworks
•5+ Years’ experience in Equipment Design using AutoCAD and Solidworks
•2D drafting and 3D design modelling of equipment used in manufacturing for automation I.e. robots, machines, lift equipment, end effectors etc.
•Practical knowledge of automation industry regulatory standards and codes
RESPONSIBILITIES
•Confidence in working through the process from concept to completion
•Developing to make the idea work, detailing to send to the machine shop, sourcing electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic components and supervising installations on site
•Develops designs for complete and complex engineering systems, structures, and plant arrangements with minimum supervision
•Plans, organizes, and coordinates own work and supportive of others
•Collect, read, interpret, and use related reference documents and drawings prepared by other disciplines, vendors, or outside sources
•Assist with assembling bid, approval, and quoting
