On behalf of our rapidly growing manufacturing client we are pleased to be recruiting for a Shift Leader.  The role of the shift leader will be to ensure that production and quality requirements are met and or exceeded on each shift, maintain client satisfaction and overall management of employees.

Position Overview:

·        Evaluate the creation and assembly of parts

·        Ensure daily JIT deliveries or product and take responsibility for all production functions

·        Participate in the development of designing jigs and fixtures

·        Provide ongoing instruction to employee with regards to quality standards and root cause analysis

·        Provide technical advice and assistance to the set-up team and operation personnel regarding set-up, start-up and change over

·        Maintain open communication with direct reports including Production Supervisors, Quality Assurance and Tool Room employees on issues of quality and customer expectations

·        Oversee and suggest any continuous improvement opportunities within the production process

·        Assist and direct Production Supervisors in the following areas: start-up, set-up, breakdown, changeover and scheduling production.

·        Lead, enhance and coordinate Quality, Tooling and Production in all aspects.

Job Qualifications:

·        3-5 years work experience in a similar role and in a manufacturing facility

·        Knowledge of blueprint reading, Health & Safety Legislation, basic electronics, hydraulics and mechanical properties

·        Proven ability in the following areas: problem solving, decision making, continuous improvement suggestions, training ,coaching and delegating

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills
