The Sales and Marketing Manager’s role is to:
 

• Lead and manage the sales team to provide exemplary wholesale customer service
• Achieve sales and gross profit growth targets through needs-based sales professionalism
• Develop and manage all marketing activities and promotions
• Identify new products initiatives

 
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
 

• Contributes to the development of the Company’s Strategic Business Plan
• Monitor industry trends and competitive activities to ensure the Company’s objectives and strategies stay current and competitive
• Research, identify and capitalize on product marketability and profitability opportunities, improving product packaging and coordinating new product development
• Develop and recommend the annual Sales & Marketing Plan
• Establish sales revenue and gross profit contribution targets for all sales regions and market segments
• Administer Sales & Marketing Plan
• Analyze weekly sales and gross profit performance results and monthly expenditures versus budget – taking corrective action when needed in a timely manner
• Achieve Sales Operations Objectives
• Produce Gross Profit Margin Objectives
• Create and implement training programs for new and existing Account Managers
• Supervise, coach, and monitor Account Managers, communicating job expectations and goals
• Manage receivables and bad debts within Company targets and standards
• Develop and execute sales and marketing promotions
• Create and oversee advertising for all media, including print, on-line and social media campaigns within budget parameters – liaises with all outsourced media outlets
   

 
Qualifications:
 

• Minimum 2 years Sales Management experience with a strong track record
• Minimum 2 years of business-to-business sales experience
• Basic marketing training/experience – encompassing promotions, print communication and on-line marketing
• College or university education, with sales and marketing specialization
• Experience or training with CRM systems and use of technology to support the sales function
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• A passion and basic knowledge of flowers, an in-depth knowledge of flowers and understanding of the needs of floral customers is an asset

 
 
 
 
Working Conditions:
 

• This position is mostly in an office setting, however there will be times during peak periods where the Sales and Marketing Manager will be required to assist at the Warehouse level. The warehouse environment is often wet with cooler temperatures ranging from 2-20 degrees
• Occasional assistance may be required at peak periods in production where physical requirements could require standing for extended periods of time and lifting heavy objects up to 40lbs

 
 
Working Times:
 

• Normal office operations are Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm each day
• Monday evenings 5pm to 9pm for supervision of order fulfillment (sorting)
• Must be able to work occasional Saturdays around major floral holidays

 
Compensation and Vacation:
 

• Base salary ranges from $45,000 to $60,000 annually, plus a potential sales performance bonus
• 3 weeks paid vacation each year (dates must not coincide with the lead-up to the major floral holidays and must be approved by the President)
• Mileage/car allowance and other benefits are available
