The Arthur Labatt Family School of Nursing will educate nurses who are reflective practitioners and provide recognized leadership in nursing theory, research, practice, inter-professional health teaching and learning, and policy advancements.  The mission will be achieved by developing and disseminating knowledge related to nursing education, health services delivery, and nursing practice which include the promotion of health and healing, and equitable and innovative health care delivery in local and global contexts. 

The School of Nursing is one of six schools in the Faculty of Health Sciences. The Manager, Administration and Finance is an active member of the School's team and will participate in the integration of faculty, financial, physical and human resources.  The incumbent will ensure that processes and resources are properly aligned and focused to enhance efficiencies, eliminate redundancies, and strengthen economies of savings to ensure the effective delivery of the School's academic and research programs.

The incumbent reports to the Director of the School for consultation on financial, operational, administrative, policy and planning matters, and is accountable for the effective and efficient management of the School's administration. The Manager, Administration and Finance has a dual reporting relationship to the Director of Administration for the Faculty of Health Sciences for all budgetary and human resources functions. 

Qualifications 
Education:

-   Undergraduate degree in Management and Organizational Studies or Business Administration
-   Accounting designation
-   Graduate degree in a related field preferred
Experience:
-   5 years' experience leading a team and implementing operational and administrative procedures in the educational sector
-   People management experience with direct accountability for recruitment, on-going training and performance management
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
-   Business acumen with an advanced understanding of quality standards relative to operational improvements, strategic planning and growth
-   Demonstrated analytical ability with a working knowledge of accounting principles, budgets and financial statements
-   Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to complete detailed analytics and reports
-   Ability to synthesize sizable amounts of data
-   Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to coach team members as well as support internal/external clients
-   Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage activities both for self and others effectively
-   Possesses a reputation for resourcefulness with a strong sense of accountability and initiative
-   Judgment, analytical and problem solving skills with a consultative and collaborative approach to addressing issues and opportunities
-   Professional manner, tact, diplomacy and discretion in dealing with associates and colleagues including senior management
-   Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality
-   Knowledge of the University collective agreements, and policies and procedures preferred
-   Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite; proficiency with PeopleSoft Financials and Human Resources preferred
