Telephone and network wiring installation and service technician.

Omni Telecommunications Inc. is looking for an energetic field
installation and service technician. Daily duties will include many
activities such as but not limited to: running communication wiring in new
and existing business environments; installing phone and data outlets;
professional interaction with clients; troubleshooting telephone and data
hardware and infrastructure; installing new or expanding existing telecom
hardware, and programming PBX and voicemail systems.

Applicants must have:
-Successfully completed high school and possess an Ontario Secondary School
-Diploma or an equivalent from another province.
-A proven history of reliable attendance and a positive attitude.
-A safe and proficient driving ability, a clean driving record is mandatory.
-A technical aptitude as well as a tidy and professional appearance.
-Ability to read and comprehend technical documents & follow instructions.
-A working knowledge of using computers running Windows and or Linux and
using these devices as diagnostic tools and accessories. A knowledge of
basic electrical and or electronics would be an asset, however job-specific
training will be provided.
-An ability to safely and properly use hand tools such as pliers,
screwdrivers, an electrician's knife, as well as an electric drill.
Proficient knowledge in use of a soldering pencil and a volt-ohm-meter would
be an asset, but training in use of all telecom specialized tools will be
given.

Applicants must not have difficulty distinguishing individual colours on
wires and must be comfortable occasionally working on a ladder or a lift
platform. Ontario ladder & lift training & certificates will be provided.
