Employment Consultant – St. Thomas (STE 201400157)
St. Thomas/Elgin Campus
Employment Group: Support
Salary: $29.70 per hour
Hours of Work per Week: 35 - May be required to work into the evening on occasion.
Closing Date: August 12, 2014
Note: This is a full-time position (35 hours per week).
Duties: Under the supervision of the Chair, St. Thomas/Elgin Campus, the incumbent is responsible for offering employment consulting to job seekers in the St. Thomas/Elgin County. Working within a unique, integrated workplace, the incumbent plans, implements and monitors activities related to information and resource services, employment planning and preparation, and job search. Includes participant recruitment, intake and assessment, creation of employment action plans, employer recruitment, program and workshop delivery, monitoring of activities, file documentation and statistics collection.

Qualifications:
- Post-secondary 2 year diploma in Career Practitioner, Employment Counselling or related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in career and employment counselling, employment workshop delivery, and job placement, in an environment where analysis and assessment of client needs and barriers is required
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Own transportation required for periodic travel
