Reports to                  Director of Human Resources

 
Purpose                      Manage the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources
                                    Department.  Manage the administration of the human
                                    resources policies, procedures and programs.  Carry out
                                    responsibilities in the functional areas including HRIS,
                                    employee relations, training and development, benefits,
                                    compensation, organizational development, recruiting
                                    and health and safety.

Responsibilities:

 
  • Provide exceptional service to internal customers on HR inquiries, practices and requests.
  • Handle highly sensitive and confidential information on a daily basis.
  • WSIB Claims Management to ensure rebate situation.Includes overseeing Return to Work Program.
  • Manage TSC’s Health and Safety program by reviewing and recommending all health and safety training programs such as WHMIS, Worker Representative training, forklift and environmental.
  • Be a certified management representative on the JH&SC.
  • Understand payroll, compensation and benefit administration.
  • Provide HR support and guidance to all departments within the support centre, distribution and retail divisions.
  • Responsible for all aspects of talent acquisition and onboarding.
  • Responsible for training and development programs.
  • Collect and analyze various data and make recommendations.
  • Stay abreast of updates and changes to all applicable legislation such as Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Codes, Labour Relations Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, etc. to ensure company compliance.
  • Liaison with medical professionals and government agencies.
  • Maintain Loyalty Award Program.
  • Review and develop policies and procedures and make recommendations.
  • Development of an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, key employee retention and development, and high performance.
  • Personal ongoing development.
  • Other responsibilities, as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Five (5) years of related work experience, preferably in retail.
  • Strength in talent acquisition and management, training and development, health and safety and compensation and benefits.
  • University/College degree/diploma in Human Resources.
  • CHRP designation an asset.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain information in confidence and exercise good judgment.
  • Solid organizational skills and proven ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • High level of attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills.
  • Strong team and customer service orientation.
  • Professionalism to deal with various levels of management and external contacts.
Demonstrated technical competence with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
