The Production Manager directs and controls the plant's production and sanitation operations also by ensuring the application of a variety of production methods to meet profitability, quality and product composition standards and meet established efficiency goals. He/she also commits themselves to meeting applicable government legislation, as well as meeting government, customer and consumer needs regarding food quality, safety and security.

More specifically, the incumbent of the position:

• Ensure the highest level of product quality and food safety at all times;
• Participate in plant audits and lead the production team to maintain the highest level of sanitation and plant organization;
• Be a leader for Safety;
• Develops clear objectives for the front line leadership team on safety, and actively participates on the plant's Joint Health and Safety
• Committee meeting;
• Demonstrates leadership in safety by completing plant inspections, implementing new processes and/or equipment and works with corporate resources to improve major plant safety programs;
• Continuous improvement of the plant costs;
• Diligent management of direct labour, controllable plant expenses, trim loss, non-conformities and ingredient yields;
• Work closely with supply plants to ensure that conversion costs continually improve year over year;
• Set clear cost objectives for the front line leadership team that align with these goals;
• Implements company practices and methods that are aligned with our Agropur values and ensure that the Agropur Woodstock handbook is fairly administrated within the plant;
• Active member of the plant's Management Committee;
• Support and guide the Plant Manager in the overall strategic objectives of Woodstock.

• Bachelor degree in Operations Management, Business Administration or Dairy Processing;
• Five (5) years' experience in Production Management
• Experience in the dairy processing industry;
• Excellent communication, organization and planning skills;
• Developed leadership skills;
• Teamwork; member of multidisciplinary task forces;
• Knowledge of micro-computing and data management.
