Director, Technology Services
Zucora is seeking a unique individual who can assume the important role of Director, Technology Services. If you possess strong business acumen, have solid technical expertise, experience with software development and advanced knowledge of web-based innovations – then you may be just the person we’re looking for! As both a conceptual and practical thinker, you inherently understand the important role that technology and communication systems play in a rapidly growing organization.
As the leader of our small, but dynamic technology team, you will assume ownership and responsibility for all of our technology-based strategies and operations, including the day-to-day administration and technical support activities needed for our information and communication systems that are used to support our retail business partners, consumers, field technicians and internal operational teams.
You are a creative self-starter who is able to work closely with our senior leadership team to help us deploy business strategies designed to deliver amazing results. As a charismatic individual who has strong communication skills, you have also gained extensive knowledge and practical experience with database development technologies, user-interface design, emerging platforms and web-based applications. You are no doubt familiar with the importance of integrating social media strategies that can help meet our customer service needs while also recognizing the many opportunities where technology can assist us in maintaining a leadership position within our industry.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- As a key member of our senior leadership team, reporting to the President, you will have primary responsibility for defining the scope, goals, and deliverables for several simultaneous IT projects that are required to meet our growing business objectives.
- Throughout the lifecycle of each IT project, you will define project success criteria, monitor the project’s progress, ensure completion and share the results with all relevant stakeholders.
- You will engage various leaders within our business by guiding and leading our adoption of new technologies that are focused on improving our business processes.
- To ensure best practice, you will apply proven development techniques and use appropriate support tools to manage the project implementation process and report on deliverables.
- As the IT team leader, you will direct and manage the application development process together with relevant integration activities needed to support our various business activities.
- You will negotiate with vendors, independent contractors, and other resources to acquire the necessary services and products needed to support our technology development requirements.
- To deliver high levels of quality service for all our stakeholders, you will proactively identify and respond to potential risks while ensuring we maintain contingency plans for the unexpected.
- You will be responsible for IT budget planning, forecasting and tracking.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 5 years leadership experience with managing and directing technology teams in a medium sized business environment.
- A college diploma or university degree in computer science or information services and/or a minimum of 7 years of equivalent work experience.
- Extensive experience with database development projects, including integration of SQL Server repositories with real time cloud based applications and key performance tools.
- Knowledge of Salesforce; EDI; and other related applications and technologies.
- Familiarity with web application development using Ruby on Rails, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, php, MySQL, SQL Server, and other content management systems.
- Solid knowledge of computer and network hardware and software: printers, scanners, routers, switches, local network setup, DHCP, FTP, HTTP, SSL, etc.
- Knowledge of operating systems: Windows XP, Mac OS X, other software: Microsoft Office, Adobe Reader, Adobe Acrobat, etc.
- Familiarity with unified communication systems and open source telephony software
