PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES
PERMANENT & TEMPORARY POSITIONS
(Position to commence 2017 September 05)

PSYCHOLOGIST

Psychologists report to the Coordinator of Psychological Services and are responsible for the diagnosis of disabilities and disorders affecting learning; communication of assessment results to parents, students and school personnel; behavioural consultation and intervention for students with social-emotional and behavioural disorders; provision of recommendations for programming based on assessment, consultation, and specialized knowledge of child development and learning; in-services training sessions for school personnel and parents; active participation in Program Development Team and other multi-disciplinary team meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:    
Graduation from a Ph.D. program in Psychology or equivalent qualifications requiring a full year residency or internship.  Current registration as a Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario with competencies in school, clinical, counselling psychology or any combination of these with scope of practice including children and adolescents.  

RATE OF PAY: $68,377 - $93,399 (Permanent)
                       $47.88 per hour plus 4% vacation pay (Temporary, to extend no later than 2018 June 30)

 PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATE

Psychological Associate reports to the Coordinator of Psychological Services, the Psychological Associate is responsible for the diagnosis of disabilities and disorders affecting learning; communication of assessment results to parents, students and school personnel; behavioural consultation and intervention for students with social-emotional and behavioural disorders; provision of recommendations for programming based on assessment, consultation, and specialized knowledge of child development and learning; in-services training sessions for school personnel and parents; active participation in Program Development Team and other multi-disciplinary team meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:  
Graduation from a Master’s degree program in Psychology or equivalent qualifications.  Current registration as a Psychological Associate with the College of Psychologists of Ontario with competencies in school, clinical, counselling psychology or any combination of these with scope of practice including children and adolescents. 

RATE OF PAY: $63,590 - $86,861 (Permanent)
                        $44.53 per hour plus 4% vacation pay (Temporary, to extend no later than 2018 June 30)

PSYCHOMETRIST

Psychometrists work under the supervision of a Member of the
College of Psychologists of Ontario.  The Psychometrist is responsible to administer standardized intellectual tests and other measures to identify learning disabilities, problems and strengths related to achievement; specify needs for individualized teaching approaches and/or special programming; recommend further involvement with specialists, agencies or institutions.  Interpretation of test results is communicated through written reports and orally to parents, teachers and the multi-disciplinary team to assist in making important decisions about the student’s personal/educational future.  Psychometrists are also involved with School Program Teams in other activities, such as behaviour management, under the supervision of a psychologist.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from a Master’s Degree program in Psychology or equivalent qualification with competencies in the assessment and intervention with children and adolescents. Successful candidates must be eligible for registration with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and will be required to provide proof of application to the college prior to commencing employment.

RATE OF PAY: $59,851 - $81,748 (Permanent)              
                       $41.91 per hour plus 4% vacation pay (Temporary, to extend no later than 2018 June 30)
