Position Summary:
The Business Development Specialist will be accountable for the generation of new business opportunities that lead to results for the Company by creating, qualifying, and developing sales prospects. You must be an energetic, creative, achievement-oriented, self-starter who is passionate about social media and technology, and thrives in a fast paced environment.
The position could require light travel for tradeshows and other related activities, and reports directly to the SVP of Sales and Marketing.

Responsibilities:
- Meet specified monthly/quarterly lead generation targets for qualified prospects using various techniques including telephone, emails, social media, targeted campaigns, content marketing and networking opportunities.
- Conduct research with external resources, including relevant social media, directories and industry data, to identify potential prospects.
- Indentify new sources for lead generation activities, including internet research, relevant blogs, and leveraging social media such as LinkedIn.
- Articulate the Media Sonar messaging and value proposition to new prospects in a consultative, solutions-based sales approach.
- Conduct introductory demonstrations of the Media Sonar product.
- Manage the prospect/user contact lists with CRM and maintenance of CRM database, reporting and analytics.
- Assist the Sales team in preparing for product demonstrations and training webinars.
- Work with Product Management, Sales and Product Development as it relates to product, industry, and competitive information learned during your work, and provide feedback on product/marketing messaging.
- May include product demonstrations and occasional marketing communications tasks.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of sales experience with proven results.
- University or College degree with demonstrated excellence in your field of study. Sales, Marketing, Business or Communications background would be ideal.
- Significant knowledge and experience in the Social Media space, including LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Flickr, Picasa, Google Analytics, and blogs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of sales and marketing techniques an asset with an ability to understand business processes and business problems.
- Understanding of lead generation process and how to manage a sales funnel process an asset.
- Experience with CRM systems such as SugarCRM or Salesforce.com desirable.
- Superior written and verbal communication with excellent formal presentation skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, retain flexibility and maintain composure under pressure, but also the ability to work well in a team environment with other sales and marketing professionals.
- Proven experience in maintaining project schedules, documentation, communications, and meeting deadlines.
- Experience in the law enforcement industry an asset.
- Energy and creativity a must.
