Position Title: Project Manager
Competition Number: WM220
Location: Strathroy
Wage: $33.00 - $40.00 per hour
Duration: 20 months (with the potential for extension)
Hours: 35 hours per week

Requirements
  • Graduation from a university in civil, environmental or water resources engineering or equivalent
  • Certification as a professional engineer
  • 3 years experience in water resources or related fields is a requirement
  • Project management experience is required
  • Experience with contaminated sites, dredging projects or marine civil engineering would be an asset
  • Exceptional organization, management and communication skills
  • Computer literacy and the ability to effectively use information and operations technology
  • Strong analytical ability and the ability to work independently or in a group
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to work well with other staff and public
  • Ability to maintain good public relations with the general public
  • Initiative and good interpersonal skills
  • Possess and maintain a valid Ontario Class G Driver's License

Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for working collaboratively and providing administrative and technical support to the Sediment Project Oversight Committee for the completion of the sediment remediation project on the St. Clair River
  • Responsible to manage the development of the request for proposals (RFP) for the final design, tender documents, technical specifications and drawings for sediment removal and site rehabilitation as well as coordination of the review of proposals.
  • Responsible for the advertisement and circulation of the request for proposals to potential consultants
  • Act as the principle liaison between consultants and the Sediment Project Management Committees
  • Responsible for all contractual obligations of the consultant including meeting and reporting schedules, budgets and change orders
  • Responsible for the review of technical drawings and documents provided by the consultant and the subsequent further technical review by appropriate project partners as necessary or by request
  • Liaising directly with waterlot owners and leasee's to assist with the drafting, negotiation and finalization of agreements required for site access during implementation phase of the project
  • Liase between the communications team and project partners to ensure updates are provided to project stakeholders, First Nations and the public
  • Report to the Board of Directors, Authority committees, municipal councils and committee, etc., as directed by the Director of Water Resources or the General Manager
  • Undertake other duties as assigned
