Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The IT End User Support – Associate will assist the IT Coordinator with daily duties and special projects.
 
Daily responsibilities may include the following:
- Configuring and installing new workstations
- Cleaning and repair of equipment, including telephony and surveillance systems
- Provide technical support to users
- Diagnose and resolve computer issues
 
Special projects may include the following:
- Remote office setup with VPN and VOIP telephony
- Reconfiguring routers and switches
- Database development
- Website and Intranet development
Perform other position related duties as required      
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
-Completed up to two (2) years of Community College, i.e. IT program
- Two years of prior related experience, including working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Publisher), Lotus Notes, and PC hardware
- Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange e-mail systems
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Physical ability to lift large/heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.)
- Completed - CCNA Level 1 and working towards MCSE
- Self-motivated and disciplined
- Provide an original copy of a Criminal Background Check screening that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required.  The screening is secured either through the national Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) or through a local police detachment.
- May require screening through The Salvation Army Abuse Registry may be required
- An understanding of the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada
NOTE: Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered
 
Term: This is a full time temporary position (based on 40 hours per week)
Normal Hours of Work: Normal hours of work – 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday and includes a ½ hour unpaid meal break.  Some evening and weekend work may be required.
Schedule may vary according to requirements of responsibilities
Wage: $13.20 per hour
Start Date: November 23, 2015  
End Date: December 31, 2016
