After School Program Coordinator

The organization is currently seeking an energetic and self-motivated individual to fill the role of After School Program Coordinator.

Overview
The After School Program Coordinator will organize and lead the After School Program at Ealing Public School three days a week: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The coordinator will work directly with Investing in Children staff, volunteers and community partners to develop, implement and facilitate various activities that promote healthy eating, physical activity, positive personal development and wellness for children in grades 5, 6, 7 and 8 in an after school setting.
 
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
  • Implement and facilitate educational and recreational activities according to grant guidelines.
  • Work with Investing in Children staff, program participants, volunteers and community partners to identify programming needs.
  • Plan and promote the program within the school.
  • Identify and connect with community partners to enhance program delivery.
  • Supervise children attending the program and promote safety and respect among participants.
  • Supervise and support volunteers and program staff.
  • Communicate with community partners, participants, parents and school administration.
  • Maintain appropriate records, complete monthly reports and evaluations.
  • Purchase supplies and coordinate meal plans based on the Ministry’s nutritional guidelines.
  • Report on a weekly basis to program supervisor and attend monthly staff development meetings.
 
Qualifications
  • Relevant education and/or work experience in Human Services or related field, with an emphasis on working with children and youth.
  • Program planning and facilitation experience is necessary.
  • Good written and verbal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Must have a current vulnerable sector screening.
  • Must have access to a reliable vehicle.

Contract Details

22.5 hours per week for 35 weeks from September 2016 until June 2017. Hours are 10:30am to 6:30pm and include on-site program delivery Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:00pm to 6:00pm.
