The Company:  At Ontario Plants Propagation Limited, our vision is to be Eastern North America’s premier supplier of greenhouse vegetable transplants.  In order to help us accomplish this goal, we need to hire motivated passionate people that will support our workforce and facilities. With that in mind we are looking for a Line Operator whose primary responsibility will include operating of the seeding/selecting or block line on the assigned shift. See below for a detailed list of responsibilities.

Job Description/Responsibilities

• Operating the selecting/seeding or block line at an efficient pace
• Operating  required machinery
• Ensure supplies are organized for line process
• Minor machine adjustments and troubleshooting
• Supervising greenhouse labourers when not operating a line
• Help maintain a healthy and safe workplace
• Maintain and adhere to all company policies and procedures
• Other duties as required

Minimum Requirements 

• Completion of high school education or equivalent;
• Experience as a supervisor or team lead
• Experience working in an agriculture an asset
• Mechanical knowledge/skills/experience
• Ability to work shifts and flexible hours
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Leadership abilities

Physical Location/Working Conditions

• Rural area, own transportation required;
• Repetitive tasks, combination of standing, bending, walking, crouching

Wage

• 35 – 50 hours per week, shifts may vary between day and evening
• Wage to be determined based on skills and experience
