Job Description
Purpose:
The Inventory Analyst works with the Business Development Unit, the Inventory Management Team and the Distribution Team. They are responsible for managing the activities between vendor, distribution and the wholesale customer base to ensure maximum efficiency while striving to reduce costs, improve product flow and increase ROI. They are also responsible for acting as one of the primary points of contact to provide customer service for the wholesale customer base.

The Inventory Analyst works with the Business Development Unit, the Inventory Management Team and the Distribution Team. They are responsible for managing the activities between vendor, distribution and the wholesale customer base to ensure maximum efficiency while striving to reduce costs, improve product flow and increase ROI. They are also responsible for acting as one of the primary points of contact to provide customer service for the wholesale customer base.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for improving and maintaining in-stock levels at the Distribution Centre by allocating and releasing inventories based on wholesale demand and seasonal forecasting
- Make recommendations and present solutions to minimize total inventory while maintaining optimal customer service levels – analyze merchandise volume requirements based on sales volume, seasonal patterns, demographics and competitive factors.
- Managing the value of reserve inventory and providing a weekly analysis to the department along with any recommendations for inventory adjustments
- Coordinating inventories with the Inventory Management Team to avoid over and under stock positioning and prevent carryover of seasonal inventory
- Analyze unfulfilled orders and replenish through either corporate order, store transfer or vendor PO
- Create warehouse direct PO’s to fill customer backorders and replenish wholesale inventories
- Create customer direct PO’s
- Collaborate with vendors to maintain relationships and accommodate special requirements to meet the departments needs
- Maintain positive relationship with vendors to ensure vendor compliance and expedition of product.
- Monitor, receive and invoice PO’s
- Manage and forecast inventory levels to meet customer flyer requirements
- Make recommendations for flyer product based on product analysis and inventory positioning
- Ensure flyer demands are met and provide resolution of any unforeseen inventory issues
- Managing the weekly pick load forecast and coordinating with TSC’s distribution team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of all wholesale orders
- Participates and provides expertise as a member of the customer service team
- Develop and recommend changes to existing methods and systems to increase the accuracy, efficiency and responsiveness of the department as a whole.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skill and Competencies
- Degree/diploma in Business
- Prioritization, time management and multi-tasking are essential to meet deadlines
- Able to gather information and translate information in business insights that can be easily understood and utilized
- Retail experience considered an asset
- Self-starter, efficient and organized in a fast paced environment
- Strong analytical abilities
- Excellent communication skills with ability to work effectively with business partners and all levels of team members
- Detailed oriented with the ability to “think outside the box”
- Proficient computer skills
