Job Description
Dillon is a well-established, employee-owned professional consulting firm operating across Canada and internationally. We offer a wide range of consulting and design services related to facilities, the environment, community development and infrastructure. We are currently seeking candidates for the position of System Administrator in our London office.
We are looking for an experienced System Administrator to manage our systems, networks, and IT infrastructure. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for owning our physical and virtual servers, networks, user systems, and infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Completion of IT support for the organization as part of our infrastructure team
- Implementation, management and maintenance of all aspects of our IT infrastructure including desktops, laptops, servers, telephone system, network devices and mobile devices
- Designing and implementation of IT infrastructure improvement plans
- Management of all aspects of cyber security, including implementing improvements
- Management of all aspects of network backup systems and media management
- Completion of system maintenance in accordance with industry best practices
- Engagement in regular disaster recovery planning and exercises
- Contribution to finding improvements in the hardware, software or infrastructure related services
- Development, organization and maintenance of network, server, and systems documentation
- Management of software and hardware inventory
- Business travel to other Dillon offices upon request
Qualifications:
- A college diploma or university degree in a technical field
- A minimum of eight years’ relevant work experience
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills
- A team player who is highly self-motivated and directed
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Windows server (2003-2016) operating systems
- Expert knowledge of virtualization technologies including VMware vSphere and VDI
- In-depth understanding of storage (SAN), backup and disaster recovery technologies
- Proficient in supporting Linux systems
- Certification in the following will be considered an asset
- Cyber Security Microsoft MCSE/MCSA
- VMware VCP Cisco CCNA/CCNP
Experience:
- Experienced in the installation, configuration, and management of iSCSI SAN, NAS, MySQL and MS SQL
- Previous experience in mid to large enterprise environments
