Job Description

 

We currently have an opportunity available for an experienced Shipper / Receiver at Canada Tubeform, a London, Ontario Automotive Tier 2 manufacturing facility. The company is a Canadian based manufacturing business focused on the production of high-volume tubular steel components and assemblies for the automotive industry and has been in business since 2001 as a privately-owned company.

This position is a hybrid role that incorporates the administrative and hands on needs of the business.  Applicants should desire both equally and enjoy the diversity and flexibility of various duties. 

 

Job Description:

The position will support the business in all aspects of shipping and receiving involving North American and International customers, using an ERP System, maintaining and evolving a working system to ensure continuous and efficient supply of raw and finished material.

Responsible for ensuring all warehouse allocations and production processing including both raw and finished materials, shall be arranged and processed in accordance with FIFO.


Requirements of the position:
 

  • Minimum Grade 12 Secondary School Diploma or equivalent. A relevant post-secondary diploma, degree or certification preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years shipping / receiving experience, specific to the automotive industry preferred.
  • Collaborate with Production Leads and other departments as required.
  • Provincially certified lift truck operator and a current valid license.
  • Maintain and promote a clean, organized and efficient plant/warehouse in-line with 5S principles.
  • Maintain and inspect material handling equipment daily and document issues and inspections as required by ERP Systems and ISO standards.  Canada Tubeform will be establishing IATF Standards in 2017.
  • Working knowledge of standard material handling documentation and shipping/receiving procedures (packing slips, NAFTA documentation, bar codes, etc.).
  • Proven ability to perform bill of ladings and effective use of scanning systems.
  • Working knowledge of a standard ERP System/s.
  • Providing forklift duties about 50% of the time and back-up coverage as required
  • Assigning duties, special instructions, managing team work loads,
  • Ability to come up with creative solutions, troubleshooting techniques either planned or unplanned. Ability to design floor plan layouts.
  • Aware of and researching new shipping best practices and methods for continuous improvement
  • Assisting with cross-training employees
  • Manage inventory levels and FIFO
  • Ensuring accurate and timely inventory shipping, receiving, storage and reconciliation and
  • Ensuring safe loading of freight and general duties
  • Creating and promoting a positive work environment
  • Customer service experience with internal and external customers and liaise and coordinate effectively with other internal departments as required.
  • Promoting positive working relationships to align with culture
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, ERP Systems. Comfortable and skilled with technology
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem solving skills.
  • High energy and a well-developed sense of urgency are essential requirements of the position.
  • Ability to work shiftwork, flexible hours and overtime as required.
