Equipment Manufacturing Engineer

THE COMPANY

• Vari-Form Inc. manufactured automotive parts. Vari-Form Inc. has three facilities in Strathroy, Ontario and additional sites located in USA, Italy, China, and Mexico.

WORK YOU WILL DO

• Requests quotes for equipment, selecting vendors, negotiating purchase agreements, purchasing tools and equipment, and maintaining and tracking program budgets.
• Initiates and tracks all aspects of new programs, i.e. raw materials, quality approvals, equipment training, installation, presenting project status and progress to management.
• Participates actively in a variety of multi-disciplinary teams to facilitate product launches (APQP), continuous improvements, quality, and customer service concerns.
• Installs and starts up new equipment, approves equipment and tool designs, and implements process changes.
• Actively pursues opportunities for continuous improvement, cost reductions, innovative technological advances, and ergonomics.
• Comply with company policies and procedures supporting the quality management system, environmental management system, and health and safety.

ALL ABOUT YOU

• College Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology.
• Two to five years electrical controls and automotive experience.
• Knowledge of PLC programming, robotics, electrical control systems / circuits.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
• Computer literacy and AutoCad.
