Job Description

Ramsden Industries Limited was established as a privately owned business in

1946 and is a leader in the aluminum casting industry. Our ISO 9001 and

OHSAS 18000 certified aluminum casting plant produces components for a

variety of original equipment manufacturers in a diverse range of industries. We

are located in London, Ontario.

 

This role is ideal for an individual with a significant background in manufacturing

and 5+ years of experience in a leadership role. As part of the leadership team,

this position is a key senior management role that reports to the general

manager, has several direct reports and is responsible for all aspects of the

manufacturing process.

 

We are looking for a people-oriented manager who enjoys working in a mid-sized

business culture that is fast-paced, hands-on and where adaptability and

teamwork are important.

 

Candidates for this role will be adept at both plant operations and people

management and will be a key driver for operational performance and continuous

improvement. We are looking for someone with exceptional leadership skills,

strong financial and business acuity and the ability to integrate past experience

with best practices and ongoing learning.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the manufacturing process (resource
  • planning, scheduling, ordering materials, set up, production, shipping and
  • delivery performance etc.)
  • Responsible for the development and management of all staff involved in
  • the delivery of plant operations
  • Team building, training and performance management
  • Development and implementation of processes and systems to support
  • overall performance
  • Implement and support advanced manufacturing technologies to support
  • production, data collection and analysis, and process improvements
  • Implement and lead continuous improvement activities
  • Prompt resolution of product, process and people related concerns
  • Financial and operational performance of the manufacturing process
  • Responsible for safety culture and improvement activities

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment
  • with a technical background in engineering or manufacturing technology
  • Strong acumen in operations management obtained through a
  • combination of experience and education or professional
  • training/certification
  • Customer-focused with a commitment to quality
  • Strong individual and team communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience implementing 5S, Lean Kaizen and other
  • continuous improvement systems
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, positive attitude and a demonstrated drive for
  • excellence and learning
  • Foundry experience and/or automotive background an asset
