Based in London, Ontario ZTR Control Systems is a global provider of control and monitoring solutions to serve railway, power and industrial equipment markets. We have a great opportunity for a one year contract for a Electrical Drafter.

As a key member of our engineering team, you will complete and maintain mechanical and electrical schematic drawings for the products we develop.  You will also provide other technical CAD services including solid modeling, documentation and contributing to enclosure design and mechanical part selection. The person in this position will be required to research and gather the component information (electrical and mechanical) needed to create drawings and documents from the assigned project engineer, project file, vendor literature, Internet, and other sources as necessary.  This position regularly interfaces with members of our engineering, technical services and production teams.

Responsibilities include:

•Completion and maintenance of accurate, dimensioned drawings of electrical panels, components and interconnects for use in production

•Following published drafting standards.

•Completion of electrical schematic drawings.

•Measurement, documentation and filing of component and assembly drawings

•Preparation of Bill of Materials for assemblies

•Assistance with document filing system maintenance
 

The Candidate must have:
 

•Diploma, certificate or coursework in CAD

•AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks drafting experience

•Diligence, attention to detail, accuracy and consistency

•The ability to work independently on small projects or in a team on larger projects with instructions coming from a variety of sources

•Above average communication skills

Preferred Candidates would have:

 •A College diploma in electrical or electronic design, mechanical engineering and/or equivalent skills and experience

•Previous work experience in a electrical / electronics CAD position

•Experience in the design of mechanical systems understanding of manufacturing techniques
