Job Details:
Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, CarProof is excited to announce the new position of Database Administrator. We are committed to creating on-line processing database systems which offer the highest reliability and performance possible.
With that being said, we have a created this new Database Administrator role to help manage, assess, and implement structure, process and monitoring of our database systems. The DBA is challenged to work with architecture, application development and operations to help achieve a state-of-the-art environment that meets current and future business objectives.
You are a database specialist, who has 3- 5 years DBA experience, with exceptional communication skills. This is an excellent opportunity for an extremely detail-oriented, organized, people-oriented candidate to excel in, and grow your career.
This full-time position is based in CarProof’s London, Ontario head office and compensation includes base salary commensurate with experience, performance bonuses and health/dental benefits.

Position Responsibilities:
- Technical support for the database environment
- Overseeing the development and organization of the databases
- Providing Information Technology with a long-term perspective on the relationship of database technology to the business opportunities facing the company
- Training and development of technical support and applications staff to better utilize the on-line processing database environment
- Providing and designing tools to assist in the management of the database and transaction processing environment
- Developing a methodology for the ongoing assessment of database performance and the identification of problem areas
- Developing a security scheme for the database environment, as well as assisting in disaster recovery if necessary
- Working with the development team to optimize SQL queries and build stored procedures and functions to be used within internally developed applications
- 5+ years Microsoft SQL Server experience
- Experience with data management and data processing flowcharting techniques
- Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices
- Technical documentation skills
- Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
- Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Good written and oral communication skills
