Our client south west of London is growing and looking to add an Electrical Engineer to their team of Professional Consultants. The firm has full offices in London, Windsor, Hamilton and Ottawa areas that make them strategically located to service the Ontario market; privately owned, providing Mechanical and Electrical Engineering design services in SW Ontario Region for over 40 years. Electrical Engineer Job Overview:
As an Electrical Engineer, your Primary responsibilities will include all aspects of design and analyses including system selection, life cycle cost calculations, and implementation of systems including:
- To develop an understanding of building codes, design concepts and VRM standards
- Design and prepare electrical reports, contract documents, drawings and specifications for all aspects of electrical systems, lighting and power distribution for healthcare, institutional, commercial, educational and residential facilities
- Design and calculate aspects of specialty electrical systems
- Supervise intermediate and junior engineers, designers and cad operators
- Conduct site reviews and attend project meetings with clients as required
- Coordinate electrical design with mechanical drawings and services
- Project Management and problem solving with internal design team and external stakeholders
Electrical Engineer Requirements:
- Licensed professional engineer status – P.Eng (OR Eligible to Obtain)
- 5 Years’ experience managing project teams in electrical design of commercial and industrial facilities and experience such as University Buildings, Public Schools, and Hospitals would be preferred
- Experience working with Canadian building codes
- Experience working with engineering simple to complex electrical buildings including lighting and power distribution and utilization of design programs such as AutoCAD or REVIT
- Ability to work independently on complex institutional, industrial and commercial engineering projects
- Routine construction assignments, site surveys and field work
Preferred Qualifications:
- LEED Accredited an asset
- NCQLP Lighting certification an asset
