Job Developer
1 Position - Based in St Thomas
Full Time Contract (Renewable Annually)
Role Summary
Reporting to the Supervisor of Employment Solutions Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for proactively developing employment opportunities for individuals who face barriers to employment through vigorous employer outreach.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

Role Summary
Reporting to the Supervisor of Employment Solutions Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for proactively developing employment opportunities for individuals who face barriers to employment through vigorous employer outreach.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of job development principles and effective sales techniques, current labour market trends and employment preparation skills
- Strong problem solving and negotiation skills and experience with training, intervening and mediating techniques in a variety of different worksites
- Demonstrated ability to apply government programs (such as Employment Ontario programs, YEF, OntarioWorks, ODSP) and resources to match employer/participant needs
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities and/or persons with barriers to employment
- Ability to work effectively independently and within a multi disciplinary team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellentorganizational skills
- Flexibility to changing demands of the job
- Post-secondary education in Social Services or related field
- Basic computer and keyboarding skills
- Valid driver’s license, insurance and reliable transportation
- Satisfactory results of a vulnerable sector screening check are necessary for the successful candidate
