Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the VP, Student Transportation, the General Manager, Voyago Schools is a leader who has proven experience managing Operations Managers and their operational teams. The General Manager, Voyago Schools must also work towards meeting Key Performance Indicators as well as an ability to work under the pressure of tight deadlines. An important function of this position is communication both towards direct reports as well as with senior management and external customers.

Primary Responsibilities

People Management:

- Plans, organizes, and manages the work of staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements

- Manage performance and make necessary changes and provide necessary training as needed

Finance:

- Monitors spending to ensure that expenses are consistent with approved budgets

Relationship Management:

- Maintain strong working relationships with contract customers and ensure expectations are being met

- Staff development through monitoring, coaching and opportunities

- Division utilization, contacts with other Divisional General Managers

Business Development:

- Plan, and organize possible business opportunities

- Ensure current customer’s expectations are met

Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications that include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Completion of a University or College education or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of Operational Management experience in an operations environment
  • Computer literate in MS Office
  • Proven transportation experience
  • Clean Drivers Abstract
  • Proven financial acumen
  • Ability to travel within Ontario
  • Strong business acumen and ability to clearly and succinctly communicate ideas
  • A natural people leader who is driven to ensure others are successful (Employees and Customers)
  • Professional written and oral communication as well as impressive interpersonal skills
