Décor Assistant – Décor Centre

(Temporary Contract:  12 to 14 Months)
 
This position will support the day to day operations of the Sifton Décor Centre, providing administrative support to the Décor Consultant in the customer and model home selections process, and any necessary coordination with other SPL team members, as well as trades and suppliers. 
 
Responsibilities include:
 
  • Welcome visitors to the Decor Centre and answer all incoming calls. Provide prospective purchasers with a detailed tour of the showroom, reviewing standards and general upgrade options.  Ensure Decor Centre is presentable and that products are displayed appropriately.
  • Assist in client meetings and selections.
  • Act as point of contact to the purchaser during the entire selection process, providing a high level of customer service and communication.
  • Coordinate with suppliers the updating of samples on display and maintain current inventory list of products. Order and maintain office supplies.
  • Update inspiration/trend boards.  Assist in the set-up of model homes.
  • Perform administrative duties such as filing and creating homeowner profiles.  Correspond with clients, team members, trades and suppliers on behalf of the Decor Consultant.  Schedule first appointments and follow-up with related paperwork.   Assist with research and compiling reports as required.  
 
Applicants should have the following qualifications:
 
  • Post-secondary administrative certification and 3 years’ related design experience
  • Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills. Experience working with the public in a busy office environment
  • Previous experience in new home construction and decor.
  • Demonstrated accuracy with numbers and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize daily activities.
  • Adaptable to changing and diverse situations; able to handle difficult situations and provide resolution.
  • Computer literate and experienced with Microsoft Office; Newstar REMS experience is an asset.Please forward resumes to:
