POSITION SUMMARY- Laboratory Assistant
As a member of the QA team, the candidate would participate in the day to day administration of the Heritage Coffee Quality Control/Food Safety and Quality Management Systems as well as new research and development projects. As well, GMP/HACCP protocols would be followed and enforced.

Key Technical Responsibilities and Contributions:
- Process monitoring and problem solving
- Product sampling and evaluation
- Maintain up-to-date and organized department records
- Perform calibrations and maintenance of lab equipment
- Evaluate incoming materials and finished goods against standards
- Data entry and analysis
- Aid in QA development and enhancement projects as prescribed
- Participate in cross functional teams as required
- Monitor production floor for adherence to GMPs and Food Safety programs
- Assist in plant projects and corporate initiatives
RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1-3 year’s prior lab/quality assurance experience preferred or a combination of education and training.
- Demonstrated interest in the specialty coffee industry
- Food safety/HACCP knowledge an asset
- Candidates with prior experience as a Quality Technician will be given priority
- Proficient in the operation of computers and computer software
