POSITION:
MONTESSORI TEACHER
Pond Mills Children’s Centre, London, Ontario
Full-time, Permanent
Commencing September 2014
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Montessori Diploma
- Minimum 2 years teaching experience in a Montessori setting is preferred
SKILLS REQUIRED: - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Creative program planning skills
- Positive leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively as a team member
- Highly knowledgeable in child development
- Knowledgeable and experienced in the Emergent Curriculum approach to learning
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: - To plan and implement a child care program for children 2 ½ to 4 years of age within a warm and nurturing learning environment
- To supervise the children at all times, ensuring a safe environment
- To maintain a positive and consistent approach towards child management that is compatible with the philosophy of London Children’s Connection
- To communicate with parents on a daily basis in an open and supportive manner
- To assist, supervise and guide students, supply staff and volunteers
- To demonstrate sound knowledge of all relevant sections of the Day Nurseries Act
- To maintain professionalism, confidentiality and courtesy at all times
