Job Description

Headstart Employment Solutions is currently recruiting a full time permanent Quality Assurance Specialist. Our Client is an international family business whose quality products have appealed to people’s taste for generations. Your Future:

  • You will be responsible for inspecting and testing incoming ingredients, finished goods, and packaging materials.
  • You will analyze according to approved methods utilizing an implemented SAP program for chemical, physical, microbiological and sensory parameters. 
  • You will additionally perform quality control line auditing checks and conduct internal audits (GMP, PP and HACCP)
  • You communicate quality issues across departments and support the HACCP & environmental monitoring programs
  • You provide employees with GMP/HACCP training and participate in continuous improvement projects

Your Strength:

  • You have earned a University Degree in Chemistry, Food Science or a College Diploma within a related field with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a chemical or microbiological laboratory or a food manufacturing laboratory.
  • You possess the knowledge of quality practices in a food plant with mechanical skillsets to coordinate the calibration and maintenance program for all lab equipment. 
  • You are required to have solid computer skills and experience working with SAP or a similar system
  • Working knowledge of the FSEP program with experience as a HACCP team member or a HACCP Coordinator in a food plant is preferred and experience working in a federally registered facility will be beneficial. 
  • Any experience and knowledge working with pizza ingredients and understanding of ingredient functionality would be an asset.
  • You can effectively communicate with plant employees and department supervisors or managers, work independently, precisely and with initiative in a team environment.
  • You have the ability to work off shift, work overtime and weekends as needed.
