Outline of Duties
 

  • Supports the Production Supervisors in the daily resource planning, plays a support role in respect of the Continuous Improvement Teams and administrative activities within the Production Department;
  • Reviews projected production forecasts and manpower requirements and adjusts staffing levels accordingly;
  • Supports the Planning Department in building systems to support production scheduling;
  • Helps to maintain the requirements for food quality, safety and defense through record verifications, on-site verifications and active participation in audits;
  • Supports the Human Capital Department in ensuring all Production Employees receive all of the required training;
  • Promotes and enhances a positive employee relation atmosphere including efforts to continuously improve teamwork and establish high levels of employee involvement;
  • Participates on the Joint Health and Safety Committee;
  • Backup relief for the Production Supervisors. 
     

Requirements

  • University degree or College diploma in related field;
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing facility;
  • Previous experience in a Lean manufacturing environment, health and safety assurance, knowledge of WHMIS, HACCP, SQF and GMP would be considered an asset;
  • Strong computer skills ideally with MS Office (Word & Excel);
  • Autonomous, team player and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
