We offer more than 200 degree, diploma, certificate and apprenticeship programs to 43,000 students each year, helping people unlock their potential and achieve success in a variety of disciplines including applied arts, business, health care, human services, hospitality and technology.
 
Fanshawe also plays an important role in providing re-skilling and skill upgrading opportunities for mature learners through the design and delivery of custom training for federally and provincially sponsored trainees, community organizations, sectoral training councils and private sector employers in the business, health, industrial and services sectors.
 
THE POSITION
 
The Executive Director, Business Development and Strategic Support is responsible for providing leadership, vision, strategic planning, direction and delivery of objectives in alignment with the College's Vision, Mission, and Strategic Goals.
As a member of Fanshawe's Senior Leadership Team reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Strategy and Business Development, the Executive Director, Business Development and Strategic Support is accountable to provide leadership within the College for growing and sustaining alternative revenue generated from domestic and transnational business activities of the College and its subsidiary corporations. The Executive Director is a primary support to College leaders and the Board of Governors with respect to enterprise strategic planning and execution, and associated monitoring and measurement. The Executive Director oversees the following College business activities: corporate training services (including new business opportunity prospecting, evaluation, and negotiation; and subsidiaries governance); government relations; strategic enterprise solutions; and institutional research.
 
REQUIREMENTS
 
- Master's Degree required, ideally focusing upon public or business administration and leadership
- Minimum of 11 years of related administrative leadership experience
- Proven track record of strong senior leadership
- Strong business analysis, planning, negotiation and contract management skills
- Highly developed understanding of public and private governance models
- Strong experience establishing partnerships and conducting business activities with foreign governments
- Strong strategic planning and execution skills
- Strong government relations skills and experience
- Highly developed human resource management, conflict resolution, and partnership development skills
- Social and marketing research experience
- Policy analysis and development experience
- Demonstrated ability to collaboratively lead and manage change and transition
- Ability to effectively manage projects to successful completion
- Effective at building and motivating high performing teams
- Demonstrated competency in persuasion and influence; a relationship builder
- Strong budget management and organizational skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
