Note: This is a full-time Administrative position (37.5 hours per week).
Duties: The Manager, Facilities Planning, is accountable for the development of short, medium and long term facilities plans to ensure the effective development, planning and utilization of space resources that support the College’s mission and align with the College strategic and academic plans. The position supports the Senior Manager with guiding campus development, and managing space management processes, and facilities planning for the College. The position also develops innovations and continuous improvements to position the department and Fanshawe College as a leader in higher education. This position represents Facilities Planning & Development on various committees related to the allocation of College space resources. The Manager is responsible for ensuring that facilities projects are compliant with all relevant legislation, regulations, codes and standards. The Manager also assists with general management and emergency preparedness and response.

Qualifications:
- Post-secondary 3 year diploma/degree in architecture or equivalent combination of training, education and experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Senior Facilities Planner or Facility Architect role in a major institution in higher education, healthcare or similar industry
- The incumbent must hold, or be eligible to hold, a currently valid professional designation or certification appropriate to their field of study
- LEED-AP (accredited professional) designation is preferred or to be obtained
- PMP or other Project Management certification an asset
- Demonstrated project management experience successfully managing multi-million dollar construction and renovation projects on time and on budget
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary team of staff and contractors
- Working knowledge of Autodesk programs (AutoCAD and/or Revit)
- Experience with VFA Facility software and BIM (Building Information Modeling) is an asset
- Sound knowledge of facilities-related legislation, codes and regulations, and standards and basic engineering practices
- Thorough understanding of facilities management principles and facilities planning and development processes including planning, tendering, designing, awarding and administration of construction and consulting contracts
- Demonstrated knowledge of construction law, applicable building, fire and health and safety legislation, regulations, codes, standards and architectural, engineering and construction practices
- Experience working with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Expertise with Excel spreadsheet software
- Familiarity with the basics of database management system concepts and structure is required
