Our client in the London, Ontario area is looking to add an experienced Mechanical Designer to their Turn Key Automated SolutionsTeam.

Mechanical Designer

• Design and detail subassemblies and parts for automated machinery
• Interact with Controls Design team and Machine Build team as it relates to overall machine design
• Quickly and efficiently learn about various machine systems, third party equipment/devices
• Purchasing activities – sending RFQ’s to vendors, filling out purchase requisitions
• Compile as built drawings and documentation for final client package
• Perform any of the duties of the Mechanical Design role in preparation for that role
• At least 5 years’ experience in machinery design and detailing in the automation industry
• At least 5 years of relevant Solidworks Experience
• Advanced level understanding of pneumatic machine control and theory
• Advanced level understanding of mechanical motion hardware and theory
• Intermediate level understanding of electrical machine control
• Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite

Required Experience

It is an asset to have any of the following experience and qualifications:

• 3yr College Mechanical Technologist diploma or 4yr Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience in any of the following: robotic, assembly, laser, and welding automation systems
• Experience configuring PLCS, VFD drives, other automation devices
• Experience with CSA Industrial Safety Regulations for Machinery and Robotics
• Fabrication, Machining, or other common machine building disciplines
• Trades Licenses and/or experience
