Human Resources Generalist

Our client has an opportunity for an HR professional to join the team as a true HR Generalist within a progressive company. Working at the London, Ontario location the Human Resources Generalist will report to the Operations Manager. The company is a progressive medium sized manufacturing facility with a strong focus on custom job shop manufacturing of complex engineered products.

In this role, you will support the management and delivery of essential Human Resources services and be the front line contact to employees and management. Areas of responsibility include policy and procedure development and administration, recruitment and selection, employee relations, payroll support and report preparation, training and development, performance management as well as overseeing health and safety and providing guidance to the JHSC utilizing a client oriented approach and the HR strategic priorities. The HR Generalist is a key enabler of the culture and core values.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:
  • Ensures all recruitment requirements of the company are met and that best qualified candidates are sourced (internally and externally) and integrated into the company
  • Works closely with and supports managers by providing guidance and advice on employee relations, discipline, coaching and performance management matters
  • Completes HR related documentation in support of the day to day business requirements
  • Participates in the development, implementation and ongoing facilitation of HR strategies, projects, policies and workplace programs
Qualifications:
  • Human Resources Post-Secondary education and 3 – 5 years’ experience practicing HR within a manufacturing environment
  • Recruitment experience, from entry level to professional/engineering/management positions
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exposure and ability to utilize ERP
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills
  • Team player, highly professional and self-directed with strong organizational, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Possess solid understanding of employment legislation, regulations and their application
  • Demonstrated application of HR best practices
  • Intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to all levels of an organization and can think quickly on their feet
