Job Description

Summary of Duties

Reporting to the Operations Manager, Regional Water Supply, the Asset Management Coordinator is responsible for maintaining an up-to-date understanding of the conditions and functioning of assets at facilities administered by the Regional Water Supply Division. On a continuing basis, this role is responsible for recommending and implementing a repair and replacement schedule, and for ensuring that all necessary testing on equipment occurs in order to ensure the safe and consistent operation of the system.

Work Performed

Monitor the Asset Management Plan for the regional water systems.

 

Implement and monitor the computerized maintenance management system utilized by the contracted operator.

 

Undertake periodic audits to ensure consistency and accuracy of data being entered into the computerized maintenance management system, or other related databases.

 

Undertake and manage condition assessments of the assets of the regional water systems.

 

Review and apply vendor specifications and other operations control requirements.

 

Coordinate and monitor periodic condition assessments undertaken by the contracted Operating Authority or other third-party specialists.

 

Communicate needs and objectives of Regional Water leadership to contracted operators and respond to inquiries from contractors as required.

 

Analyze data related to asset conditions, predictive asset maintenance, and reactive asset repairs undertaken on the regional water systems.

 

Assist project managers and divisional staff with data required for the preparation of business cases related to assets of the regional water systems.

 

Provide data and information to assist in the development of annual Capital Budgets for the regional water systems.

 

Collaborate with project managers and divisional staff to monitor, reconcile and liaise with Finance/Tangible Capital Assets group of the City of London related to the assets of the regional water systems.

 

Assist with the preparation of reports to the Boards of Management for the regional water systems.

 

Coordinate and prepare updates to the asset registry and asset management system following operational changes from maintenance and repair activities, capital replacement of assets, and the construction and installation of new assets under the annual Capital Budget.

Qualifications/Experience

Minimum three year community college civil engineering diploma (or equivalent).

 

Full member of the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologist (OACETT) or Associate Member of the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) with full membership as a Certified Engineering Technologist completed within three years. A Certified Engineering Technologist designation (CET) would be an asset.

 

Minimum of three years of experience working in an engineering or technology related field, during which responsibilities included project management and contract administration.

 

 

Specialized Training & Licenses

Ability to read blueprints.

 

Ability to understand and apply regulatory policies and guidelines.

 

Valid G Driver’s Licence.

Compensation and Other Information

$48,205 - $68,800 (Level 11)

 

Other Information:
Current hours of Work: Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
These hours of work are subject to change in accordance with the Collective Agreement and may include evening hours and Saturdays.
