Job description:

Givens Machine Systems is currently accepting applications for a Senior PLC Programmer (5 or more years experience). The bulk of the work required is programming, mainly with Toyopuc PLC for Toyota assembly plants across Canada and United States. We also run projects that will use, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs.

We build the machines needing controls as well as complete all the wiring and electrical drawings required in house. You would be responsible to meet with the customer and various departments internally and then come up with a program, usually based on an older, similar program. You would also help commission the machine and debug. You would occasionally complete panel building as well as install field wiring on the machine.

Our products range from industrial cranes & manipulators, to custom machinery, conveyors, toque tools and fixturing. In addition to electrical work, the candidate must be willing to work with pneumatic, hydraulic & mechanical projects. There are also ongoing R&D projects that require controls expertise.

You would be working alongside four other electricians of varying experience, but usually working independently from one another.

Work is usually straight days with weekends off, but weekend work and overtime occur from time to time. Because our workload varies constantly, overloads are handled with overtime.
