SHOP FABRICATOR/WELDER
ProAble Hardware Specialties
 
We are looking for a Shop Fabricator/Welder to join our South London team, who has welding experience and an excellent ability to work with tools and equipment. Our firm works with architects, contractors and end-users to specify, supply, install and maintain Door Safety, Security and Automation products as well as Specialty Building Products for commercial, industrial and institutional buildings.
 
Job Type: Full Time     
Normal Hours per week: 40 (Mon-Thu: 7:30 to 4:30, Fri: 7:30 to 2:00)
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Shop Fabrication: Cutting, welding (MIG), reworking, fabricating and grinding steel frames and doors.
  • Equipment care and maintenance
  • Shop organization and cleanliness
  • Receiving product
  • Inventory and supply responsibilities
 
Position Requirements:
  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma – an asset is college/vocational or technical training
  • Welding and fabrication experience, minimum 2 years’ experience
  • Must be very proficient with hand tools and related equipment
  • Proficiency in reading drawings and instructions/orders
  • Must be able to measure both imperial and metric
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the job including heavy lifting
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills; both verbal and written
  • Excellent planning, organizational and documentation skills
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure in a small but busy and highly dynamic environment
  • Ability to multi task efficiently
  • Grade 1 CSA approved safety footwear and welding mask
  • Reliable vehicle to get to and from work as bus service is not available.
 
Assets:
  • Experience working in a business related to construction
  • Training: Health and Safety, First Aid, Forklift, Driver
