We currently have the following opportunity for an experienced, organized, and customer-focused individual to join our team as:
Information Systems Specialist
Corporate Office – London, ON
 
This role will provide ongoing support to our corporate office and locations throughout the province.  As part of the Information Systems Team, your responsibilities will include the following:  

• Deploy, maintain and troubleshoot hardware and software throughout operations, including computers and all peripherals.
• Deploy, maintain and troubleshoot corporate servers, including both physical servers and Hyper-V virtualized servers.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain computer networks, including local area networks in all locations, corporate VPN that connects all locations, and Internet connections.
• Collaborate with management and the broader team in utilizing new technology and developing systems to ensure efficient, continuous operations.
• Prepare and deploy annual plan to execute upgrades, changes, and installation of new systems, ensuring adherence to security, privacy protocols and backups.
• Interface with the Corporate Information Systems department, ensuring corporate policies and protocols are followed and reflect the needs of local operations.
• Interface with service providers and vendors, developing cost proposals and evaluating various alternatives and making recommendations to management.
• Assist users with desktop, remote access and business applications, as well as various respiratory equipment support systems.
• Provide internal training and supporting documentation as needed.
• Travel to operations across Ontario as needed to support systems.  Occasional overnight travel is required.
• Participate in on-call rotation as organized by the company including evenings and weekends providing support to system users as required.

 
The preferred candidate has:

• Post-secondary degree/diploma in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering. Relevant Microsoft certification (MCDST, MCSA, MCSE) is desirable.
• 5+ years of experience in an Information Systems role with progressive enhancement of skills and responsibility.
• Advanced skills with Windows, Windows Server, Hyper-V, MS Exchange, and MS Office products.
• Advanced knowledge of desktop PC’s, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
• Working knowledge of MS Dynamics GP and CRM and MS SQL Server administration.
• Experience in the design, setup, and management of computer networks, including VPNs, firewalls, routers, and switches. Knowledge of VOIP and integrating voice and data on a network.
• Expertise in project management of technical implementations within budget and timeline parameters.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and effectively manage time in a dynamic environment.
• Advanced technical troubleshooting skills.
• Proven effectiveness in training employees in technical applications.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel required.  Must hold a valid Ontario driver's licence:
  • minimum 3 years of full privilege driving experience preferred
  • completion of satisfactory driving checks required on a recurring basis
